From August 15 to 19, Rotary friendship crossed borders as the Rotary Club of New Manila East warmly welcomed members of our Sister Club, Rotary Club of Daejeon Jungdo, for five meaningful days of fellowship, cultural exchange, and shared commitment to service. The delegation’s arrival on August 15 began with a warm welcome and a sumptuous lunch at Celebrity Sports Plaza. Stories, laughter, and genuine camaraderie filled the afternoon, setting the tone for a memorable visit.

On August 16, members of both clubs gathered at Eastridge for a Golf Fellowship. Beyond the friendly competition on the fairways, the day provided another opportunity to strengthen relationships and celebrate the friendship that continues to unite our clubs.

As additional delegates arrived on August 17, fellowship continued over lunch at Ummason and dinner at Hungry G Restaurant. A highlight of the day was the visit to RCNME’s two Mobile Clinics, where the proposed TB Screening Kits under our Global Grant will be deployed this Rotary Year. These kits will help accelerate screening, support timely diagnosis, and expand access to care—turning our shared vision for healthier communities into meaningful action.

On August 18, our guests experienced Manila’s rich heritage through visits to Manila Cathedral and Fort Santiago, including the timeless Filipino tradition of riding a kalesa. That evening, our Sister Club friends proudly joined RCNME’s 42nd Induction Ceremony, standing with us as we welcomed new leadership and renewed our commitment to service.

On August 19, we gathered for a heartfelt farewell, carrying with us memories, friendships, and renewed purpose.

Though oceans may separate us, Rotary bridges every distance. Through fellowship, friendship, and shared service, RC Daejeon Jungdo and RC New Manila East continue to demonstrate that international partnerships can create opportunities for lasting impact—together, across borders.
